Our Pledge
« Komala wants to reflect the Diaspora’s voice and contribute to the development of the African youth, especially the youth of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Therefore, we two grassroots programmes were created. the Salongo program and the Diasco meeting based on Education, Entrepreneurship and Diaspora Engagement. . »
-
An educational entrepreneurship program launched in two cities, namely Bukavu and Kinshasa, with the aim to mentor young, talented Congolese students (18-25) with business plans adapted to their local reality. In cooperation with universities, corporate and other institutional partners, Komala provides the most accurate assistance for the acquisition of sustainable, tangible and intangible, resources in order to develop and/or establish projects. We pledge to be the intermediary structure enabling not only start-ups to be scaled but also individuals to grow their ideas into real businesses. The sustainability and bankability of projects is reinforced through a meticulous planned program facilitating the evolvement in a propitious environment.
The aim is to support aspiring (social) entrepreneurs logistically and financially, where possible, according to their needs.
-
An annual meeting that Komala organises within the frontiers of the Schengen space for the Congolese diaspora, (non)-state officials and interested parties. Through this recurring event, we want to encourage the diaspora and certainly the youth to take part in the development of the country.
-
Our team is also heavily invested in research and consultancy for and about the Congolese Diaspora.
At Komala, we acquire and have knowledge about the local realities (in the Democratic Republic of Congo) and its Diaspora. We are working every day to add new information to complete our research, so that interested parties can have detailed representations of the strengths, challenges and opportunities.
We offer advice on risk management, administration (for returnees), communication, advocacy and policy, public relations and affairs to private companies, non-profit organisations and individuals about the local realities and Diaspora affairs.
